If you aren’t very familiar with the Bible, you should look into some additive reading materials on the topic.  Study guides are obtainable in Christian bookstores and online, and they can point out what certain passages might mean.  Or, you might want to look into a support group or Bible study so you can address whatever concerns you might have with people who are of the same faith.
